Statement by India under Agenda Item 6: Adoption of UPR Outcomes of the United Republic of Tanzania at the 49th Session of the Human Rights Council (28 February – 1 April 2022) delivered by Mr.S.Senthil Kumar, First Secretary,Permanent Mission of India (Geneva, 23 March 2022)

Madam Vice-President,

India warmly welcomes the delegation of the United Republic of Tanzania for the adoption of the report of the Working Group on its 3rd Universal Periodic Review that was held on 5 November 2021. 

  1. 2.The review saw substantive participation with 92 delegations taking the floor and making a total of 252 recommendations.
  1. 3.India appreciates that 187 recommendations have been accepted by the United Republic of Tanzania, including 3 recommendations made by us. We also appreciate the constructive engagement by the delegation of the United Republic of Tanzania during the entire review, which reflects their strong commitment to the UPR process. 
  1. 4.We warmly congratulate the United Republic of Tanzania for a successful review and wish them all the success in their efforts for implementing the accepted recommendations.
