Madam President,

India warmly welcomes the delegation of Saint Kitts and Nevis for the adoption of the report of the Working Group on its 3rd Universal Periodic Review that was held on 19 January, 2021. 

2. It is noteworthy that the review witnessed substantive participation with 60 delegations taking the floor and making a total of 165 recommendations.

3. India appreciates that as many as 70 recommendations have been accepted by Saint Kitts and Nevis, including 2 of our recommendations. We commend Saint Kitts and Nevis for its quick response to the COVID-19 situation by implementing a comprehensive plan of action to preserve the livelihood of affected population, in particular, the vulnerable and marginalized communities.

4. We warmly congratulate Saint Kitts and Nevis for a successful review and wish them all the success in their efforts for implementing the accepted recommendations.
