Madam Vice-President,

2. The review saw active participation and constructive engagement with 75 delegations taking the floor and making 197 recommendations. Its commendable that as many as 193 out of it have been accepted by Guinea-Bissau. We appreciate that Guinea-Bissau has accepted all 3 recommendations made by India.

3. We also appreciate the constructive engagement by the delegation of Guinea-Bissau during the review process highlighting both its initiatives on the previous recommendations as well as challenges in bringing stability in the country. Improving infrastructure would be significant in improving basic services and while we particularly appreciate steps taken to facilitate greater access to justice. Other significant steps include promoting education for children, improving access to safe drinking water and combatting drug trafficking.
